The Next 150: Celebrating our Past and Imagining our Future

Forum Hosts: Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako and Burns Lake Band (Ts'il Kaz Koh)

Date: September 19th and 20th, 2017

Location: Burns Lake Band Gathering Place- 675 Highway 16 West, Burns Lake

The Regional Business Forum has been taking place across the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako since 2008. The primary goal of the 2017 RDBN Business Forum is to give business, industry, economic developers, all levels of government, First Nations, educators, employment/business supports and non-profit organizations from across the region the opportunity to gather for learning and networking.

This year's Forum will feature:

Afternoon Events:

  • Meet Clint Fraser from Northern Tourism BC, and learn what Tourism looks like in the Bulkley-Nechako. Ask him how you can maximize your business' exposure and increase visitor traffic.
  • Workshop Sessions: Whether you need advice about your Business or your Non-Profit Society, we have a workshop for you! Concurrent Sessions will focus on information for Entrepreneurs (presented by Keynote Speaker Art Napoleon), as well as tips for Non-Profit Societies on how to successfully plan and manage a project (presented by RDBN Proposal Writer, Nellie Davis)
  • Following a refreshment break, additional concurrent workshops will give business owners an Introduction to Entrepreneurship (presented by Katy Carr from Futurepreneur's Thrivenorth Initiative) and Non-Profit Societies will have the chance to meet a panel of funding organizations from the region and learn how to be a successful applicant.
  • Remember to join us at 4:30 for a wrap-up and Door Prize Draw!

Evening Events:

  • Don't miss the Gala Dinner at 6:00 pm. You will enjoy great food, great music by The Johnnie Rockers, and the presentation of the Winner of the Start-up Business Contest. A night to remember!

Tradeshow:

Learn what our regional businesses and organizations have to offer!  Displays will be set up each day of the Forum, stop by and see how our businesses and organizations are serving you!

Exhibitors - A limited number of displays will be set up along the outside walls of the presentation room. This is a great opportunity for businesses and organizations in the region to showcase and promote their business and activities.

The tradeshow will be open between 8:30-9:00am, lunch and refreshment breaks, and for half an hour after presentations are completed each day.

Tradeshow Table Rental Fees:

  • Early Bird until August 31st, 2017 - $60 plus tax per day
  • Regular Prices after September 1st, 2017- $75 plus tax per day
