EVACUATION ORDER ISSUED - Kluskoil Lake 1 Due to Access Restriction

Pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the Emergency Program Act, and the Declaration of State of Local Emergency ordered on August 11, 2017, for Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Electoral Area ‘E’ (Francois/Ootsa Lake Rural), an Evacuation Order has been issued by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako due to immediate danger to life safety due to a wildland interface fire.  Members of the RCMP will be expediting this action.

The Evacuation Order is in effect for:

South of Chedakuz Forest Service Road (FSR), west to the boundary of Entiako Provincial Park, and south east to the border of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Electoral Area ‘E’ (Francois/Ootsa Lake Rural) including the Ootsa Extension FSR, as per attached map.

Evacuees Please:

  • Register at the Emergency Social Services (ESS) Centre in Williams Lake at Boitanio Mall or Quesnel at 500 North Star Road between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. If you require group lodging, register at the ESS Reception Centre in Prince George at the Civic Centre at 808 Canada Games Way. 
  • Emergency Social Services can provide assistance for food, lodging, clothing, emotional support and family reunification.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

  • You must leave the area
  • If you need transportation assistance from the area please advise the individual providing this notice or call the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako at 250-692-3195 or Emergency Management BC at 1-800-663-3456.
  • Close all windows and doors.
  • Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers
  • Close gates (latch) but do not lock.
  • Gather your family: take a neighbour or someone who needs help.
  • Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available. Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
  • Do not use more vehicles than you have to.
  • Do not use the telephone unless you need emergency service assistance.
