Neighbourhood Emergency Planning Coordinator

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (RDBN) is seeking a qualified person to fill the part-time position as the Neighbourhood Emergency Planning Coordinator for a term of approximately 24 months. The Neighbourhood Emergency Planning Coordinator will be responsible for the facilitation of a Neighbourhood Emergency Planning Program related activities for Electoral Area ‘A’, Smithers Rural of the RDBN. The position is responsible to ensure that the Neighbourhood Emergency Planning Program activities are supported, developed and implemented in accordance with the direction and policy provided by the RDBN.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, have excellent organizational, planning and project management skills and the proven ability to effectively communicate with internal team members and the public. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write correspondence, research, prepare reports and all aspects of public education and facilitation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to effectively lead working groups and positively contribute to a team environment are essential for this position.
