RDBN Startup Business Contest Finalists Announced

Burns Lake, BC – Tuesday, August 30, 2017 – For immediate release                     

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (RDBN) is pleased to announce the finalists in the 2017 RDBN Startup Business contest.  Entrants provided a business plan introducing their new business or business idea. The entries were judged on the strength of their business planning.  The finalists chosen by the selection panel are:

  • Happy Jacks Restaurant and Pub, Jordan Porth (Houston)
  • Honeysuckle Farm, Leanne Miranda (Burns Lake)
  • Just Boer’d N Dreamin, Donna Davidson (Houston)
  • Pitter Patter Boutique, Amelia Mattson and Ryan Coltura (Smithers)
  • Vet to Pet Mobile, Kim Hunter (Telkwa)

We were pleased with the number of quality entries received, representing a wide range of businesses.  We look forward  to watching these businesses develop and appreciate the contribution each makes to our region.

Finalists will present concept pitches on September 19, 2017 at the Regional Business Forum being held at the Gathering Place (Burns Lake Band) in Burns Lake. Attendees of the Business Forum will listen to the pitches and help to select the winner of the contest. The grand prize winner will be selected and announced at the Gala Dinner, September 19 at the Rod and Gun Club. To support the finalists the public is invited to attend the Business Forum or Gala Dinner by registering at www.rdbn.bc.ca/businessforum.
