Solid waste management includes the operation and management of the Regional District's landfill and transfer station facilities to ensure that the handling and ultimate disposal of the region's waste is compliant with environmental standards set by the Ministry of Environment. Solid waste management also includes promoting waste reduction, recycling and composting.
