Protective Services Department
Mission Statement
“Building a safer future through effective partnerships of local government, emergency services, private sector, and volunteer agencies and the residents of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako to save lives, protect property and reduce the effects of disasters through mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities.”
The Protective Services Department is responsible for facilitating the RDBN’s Emergency Management Program, 911 Service, Rural Fire Protection, and Emergency Response.
During an emergency, the RDBN activates its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to ensure residents are given support to remain as resilient as possible should they be evacuated from their homes.
In partnership with member municipalities, the RDBN provides Bulkley Nechako Emergency Support Services and Bulkley Nechako Emergency Alerts.
