Cluculz Lake Rural Fire Protection Service Establishment Amendment
Bylaw No. 2108, 2026
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given to the electors within a portion of Electoral Area F (Vanderhoof Rural) known as the Cluculz Lake Rural Fire Protection Area of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako that approval is being sought for “Cluculz Lake Rural Fire Protection Service Establishment Amendment Bylaw No. 2108, 2026” by use of the Alternative Approval Process.
Bylaw No. 2108 proposes to amend the maximum tax limit for the Cluculz Lake Rural Fire Protection Service within a portion of Electoral Area F (Vanderhoof Rural) from $29,296 per annum to a maximum of $0.50 per $1,000 of net taxable value of land and improvements within the service area per annum.
Approval to proceed with adoption of this bylaw is being sought from the electors within a portion of Electoral Area F of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako.
Alternative Approval Process
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Board of Directors may proceed with adoption of Bylaw No. 2108 unless at least 10% of the qualified electors within a portion of Electoral Area F (Vanderhoof Rural) submit a signed Elector Response Form indicating their opposition to adoption of the bylaw by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Elector Response Forms must be received by the Corporate Officer between 8:30 a.m. on July 30, 2026 and 4:30 p.m. on August 31, 2026. Postmarks will not be accepted as the date of submission.
Required Number of Responses
For the purpose of this Alternative Approval Process, 10% of the qualified electors has been determined to be 117 persons (out of 1,166 eligible electors) within a portion of Electoral Area “F” (Vanderhoof Rural).
Inspection of Documents
Copies of Bylaw No. 2108, 2026 including a map of the service area, a letter to the property owners, and the Elector Response Form are available for public inspection at:

Elector Response Forms must be in the form established by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako and only those persons who qualify as electors in the defined portion of Electoral Area F are entitled to sign an Elector Response Form. Elector Response Forms are available at the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Office and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako website at the addresses above. Those persons eligible to sign the Elector Response Form may qualify as either resident electors or non-resident electors as follows:
Elector Qualifications
Resident Elector:
- 18 years of age or older;
- Canadian citizen;
- Resident of BC for at least 6 months;
- Resident within the defined area for at least 30 days;
- Not otherwise disqualified by law.
Non-Resident Property Elector:
- Not entitled to register as a resident elector;
- 18 years of age or older;
- Canadian citizen;
- Resident of BC for at least 6 months;
- Registered owner of property in the area for at least 30 days;
- Not otherwise disqualified by law.
A person must not sign more than one Elector Response Form.
Non-resident property electors may submit only one form regardless of the number of properties owned. If there is more than one registered owner of the property, only one of those individuals, with the written consent of the majority of the owners, may register as a non-resident property elector in relation to one parcel of real property in a jurisdiction. A consent form may be obtained by contacting the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako or at www.rdbn.bc.ca.
Public Information
Only electors who are opposed to the adoption of the bylaw need to submit an Elector Response Form. If you are not opposed, no action is required.
