through passing of a motion confirmed the intention of implementing a region wide cardboard ban on

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako invites submissions from qualified Contractors to be included on a registered list for Hired Equipment for short notice emergency services as well as summer construction projects. As projects arise that require the use of hired equipment, contractors may be called to provide various services.


Submissions shall be marked “2015 Hired Equipment Registration” and can be delivered in person or by mail at the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako office, 37-3rd Avenue PO Box 820, Burns Lake BC, V0J 1E0, emailed to or faxed to (250) 692-3305.

Contractors must meet the following requirements:

  • All equipment must be owned or leased-to-own
  • Must have WorkSafe BC coverage

Registration Procedure:

  1. Submit a completed 2015 Hired Equipment Registration Form. Equipment photos are welcomed but not required.
  2. Ensure reference contact names & phone numbers are current to provide efficient means ofcommunication.
  3. The RDBN will create a Contractor call out list based on the following considerations:
    • Availability
    • Indication that the contractor has:
      • Comprehensive general liability insurance covering:
        • General liability
        • Personal injury
        • Property damage
      • Vehicle insurance
    • Work Experience and references
    • Rates – mandatory documentation must be in place
    • Equipment working condition and age
    • Once hired, equipment and operators will be expected to perform at a reasonable level. If asituation develops where performance is not acceptable, temporary suspension or terminationmay result.

Fuel Consumption Data

For Contracted Services over $25,000.00 / year, the RDBN is required by the Climate Action Charter to track contracted emissions derived from fossil fuel consumption used to operate vehicles, equipment and machinery. Therefore, the RDBN may require Contractors to provide the quantity of fuel used to operate vehicles, equipment and machinery as part of the delivery of the services requested.


The RDBN makes no warranty and in no way guarantees work will be provided to contractors that submit Hired Equipment Registration Forms. The request for information regarding equipment registration should in no way be perceived to be a procurement process. The RDBN reserves the sole and unfettered right to hire or not hire any or all contractors who have submitted 2015 Hired Equipment Registration Forms.
